10 minute gap.
i just stood outside in the wind for about 20 minutes. i took the cotton out of my ears and just stood for a while and felt my skirt blow and the chill and watched the street and the trees and the clouds and the stars. after a little bit i sat on the stairs and felt the thread brushing my ankles and the way the cold nuzzled against my toes. my mom came rushing out all panicked because she didn’t know where i was and took me back inside. it was all very crisp. very human.
i want to cry.
